“A CLOSER LOOK: Portraits of Women” is a RISD museum microsite. For this project, I had to choose 10 pieces of artwork that fit together. I chose portraits of women for my exhibit theme. These pieces were framed very similarly and the specific framing of these art pieces enhance the details of these women. As far as the design, I made specific design choices to enhance the pieces of art rather than clash with it. All of these portraits of women had a very mature aesthetic so I took that into consideration while choosing the fonts for the logo and the website. The RISD museum is extremely modern so I wanted to create typography with a mature and modern essence. For the home page, I created a canvas texture over the featured image to create a homepage that was visually appealing and connected back to the idea of art on a canvas.
